On Monday the 7th of March, ECDHR sent letters to the European Member States’ representations in Bahrain, especially requesting them to strengthen cooperation with the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the Danish Foreign Minister. As the only EU presence in the territory, the French, German and Italian Embassies can play a major role in guaranteeing Mr. Al-Khawaja not only his well-being in prison, but also the consular protection he is entitled to as a European Danish citizen.”
